We hold over 60 records at Bonneville, El Mirage, and Muroc dry lakes. The records are FIM, AMA, SCTA and BNI. Team McLeish has won the Best Engineered Bub Award and the John Force Best of Show Award. We had the fastest motorcycle time at the 2011 Bonneville Speed Week with an exit speed of 234.886mph. That was the SilverRod streamliner with a normally aspirated 1000 cc RC51. The SilverRod can run as a motorcycle streamliner, sidecar streamliner and in the car class as a Lakester.

This year we are building a new car which will be GSXR 1000 powered.

Team McLeish Bros recently purchased both a USB (Denso) Interface as well as a Log Box to assist in tuning their latest GSX-R powered Land Speed racing car.

May 2012 Update

We had a successful weekend outing setting a new record of 142 MPH on the old record of 108. Logbox was mounted during all four runs, and we pulled data to view AFR after the first run. Saw about 12.8 numbers in the WOT high RPM regime as I recall.

We really are quite happy with how elegant this system is working out. Possibly the only concern now is that we operate on dry lakebeds, so keeping dust and salt out of our systems is important. For the first race we used a plastic sandwich bag to seal it up, later we will have a proper box in the cockpit with the serial cable extension in place.

August 2012 update

We used the Woolich Racing Log Box and Flashing interface to set another two records at the 2012 Bonneville Speed Week.

The Spitfire LSR powered by a GXSR 1000 ran over 165mph on its first run down the salt. Here are some pictures of the car in paint.

November 2012 update

Team McLeish Bros. came out on top in this year’s points championship race and we could not have done it without your help. On the way (with a brand new car) we set 8 Land Speed records at Bonneville and El Mirage.

Justin, thanks for the Woolich Log Box technology, it made it all possible. As we learned more about the system and dialed in the car based on knowing what the ECU did on every run, it just kept going faster. Top speed so far with the GXSR 1000 was 183mph at World Finals, we are now qualified for next year to run on the 5 mile course so look for 200mph with the 1000.

Greg, thanks for loaning us the maps and teaching us some of your tips and tricks.
